CA Institute Research: Scoping Review on Trauma Treatments for Legally Involved Youth with Learning, Cognitive, and Intellectual Disabilities

Collaborators in the Juvenile inJustice Behavioral Health Lab at UCSF have prepared a scoping review of published literature evaluating trauma-focused mental health interventions for legally involved youth with learning, cognitive, and intellectual disabilities. The manuscript illuminates the need for targeted research examining the effectiveness of evidence-based trauma treatments for youth with legal and learning and cognitive needs. The manuscript also provides specific recommendations for practitioners providing treatment for these youth.
