Dr. Alison Yoshimoto-Towery is a lifelong advocate for educational equity and innovation, with over 30 years of experience spanning classroom teaching, school leadership, and district-level administration. Her career has been defined by a deep commitment to improving outcomes for historically underserved students and building systems that honor the brilliance of all learners. She holds a bachelor’s degree from UC Irvine, two master’s degrees in education — including a reading specialist credential from California State University, Los Angeles, and an administrative credential from UCLA — and a doctorate in education from UCLA. Known for her collaborative leadership and policy expertise, Dr. Yoshimoto-Towery was recently appointed to the California State Board of Education by Governor Gavin Newsom.
